Renard Communications named Outstanding Corporate Partner by
New Jersey Institute of Technology
Award will be presented at NJIT 2012 Celebration event January 25
Springfield, NJ – Renard Communications, the parent company of Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology magazine and Diversity Careers Online (www.diversitycareers.com), will receive the 2012 Outstanding Corporate Partner Award from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT, Newark, NJ).
University president Joel Bloom announced the award in June. It will be formally presented to Roberta Renard, president and CEO of Renard Communications and publisher of Diversity/Careers, at NJIT's 18th annual Celebration event in January. Originally scheduled for November 2, the event was rescheduled after Superstorm Sandy hit the area at the end of October.
Renard has been a member of the Board of Visitors of NJIT's Albert Dorman Honors College since 2001. Renard Communications established an endowed scholarship in 2004 for women Honors College undergrads in technical majors. The scholarship has supported multiple students each year since it was set up.
In a letter to Renard Communications, Bloom said, "Your representation on the Board of Visitors and your establishment of the Renard Communications Endowed Scholarship demonstrate a sincere commitment to our mission to provide quality education in engineering, science and related technologies to a diverse student body."
"On behalf of all of us at Renard Communications, I'm extremely honored to receive this award," Renard said. "Our publication, Diversity/Careers, shares NJIT's mission to advance the careers of diverse technical professionals and entrepreneurs in technology, and we're glad to be able to support the work of such an important institution."
One NJIT Outstanding Corporate Partner is named each year. Past recipients have included Panasonic, Exxon, PSE&G, BD, Prudential Insurance, Schering-Plough, UPS, Merck, Verizon, Hess Corporation and AECOM.
The black-tie Celebration, to be held this year at Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ, is the university's major scholarship fundraising event. Over the years Celebration has raised more than $3 million for student scholarships. Program ad deadline is January 4; ads start at $100. For more information, see www.njit.edu/celebration/2012.
